(Carboniferous Elshore has no true grasses; its "golden plains" are fern-grain and spore-crops.)
Key traits
- Northern Northland, south of the Sea of Rising Suns; sporegrain and dewsown farmland.
The Napmeadows lie across the mid-north like sleep made into a landscape: long grass, low light, air that settles the shoulders. Herds drowse standing up; travellers plan a crossing in three days and take five without resenting it. The name is settler speech and needs no register. Under the softness the old drains of the Inarin age still keep the water table exactly courteous, which is why the meadows nap instead of drowning: the gentlest work the old world ever did, and among the last still doing it.
